Green Roofs for Healthy Cities’ mission is to increase the awareness of the economic, social and environmental benefits of green roofs, green walls and other forms of living architecture through education, advocacy, professionalism and celebrations of excellence. www.greenroofs.org

HISTORICAL MILESTONES GRHC incorporated as 501 (c)(6), not-for-profit industry association in 2005 Welcomed new memberships in 2008 Supporter ($50 annually) Individual ($149 annually) Corporate ($500 to $4800 annually)
GRP ACCREDITATION • Four professional training courses developed by multidisciplinary experts over 5 years
GRP ACCREDITATION – OCCUPATIONAL STANDARDS • In 2008, sixteen experts met to develop the detailed Occupational Standards for the Green Roof Professional • These standards form the detail knowledge requirements for the GRP and establish the basis for the GRP multi-disciplinary, multiple choice exam
Green Roof Professional (GRP) Designation • Satisfies a coordination role: • Select team, coordinate professionals, understand best management practices, etc. • Demonstrates knowledge of best practices • Focuses on getting the most benefit from the green roof and avoiding common mistakes • More than 250 people became GRPs in 2009 including landscape architects, roofing contractors, architects, engineers, consultants horticulturalists and more!
