  3. Place Human Characteristics • 1.Out of 56 different ethnic groups in China, there are around 47 different groups just in Xinjiang. • 2. Several Large Cities: Urumqi, Turpan, Kashgar, Korla, Karamay • 3. Xinjiang is filled with ruins from various time periods and cultures. • 4. People pollute the environment as a side effect of industrialization (though it is not nearly as polluted as other cities in China).
