  2. Stopping at a Stop Sign The law says to stop before the crosswalk and always before entering the cross street. A: Start at position “A”. Stop for the stop sign at the next intersection.   5. Right Turns B:Start in Position “A”. 1. Move to 3 feet or less from the curb as soon as possible. 2. Signal 100 feet from the intersection. 3. Slow down and observe other traffic at 50 feet from the intersection. 4. Turn when the front bumper is even with the curb line, staying 3 feet from the curb. 5. Enter the lane 3 feet from the curb. 6. Move to the center of the lane and get to traffic speed.

  6. Left Turns A:Start in Position “A”. 1. Move to 1 foot from the center yellow line as soon as possible. 2. Signal 100 feet from the intersection. 3. Slow down and observe other traffic at 50 feet from the intersection. 4. Turn when your body is just entering the lane before the lane you are entering. Do not cross the middle of the intersection. 5. Enter the lane 1 foot from the yellow center line. 6. Move to the center of the lane.

  7. Left Turns B:Start in Position “B”. 1. Move to 1 foot from the center yellow line as soon as possible. 2. Signal 100 feet from the intersection. 3. Slow down and observe other traffic at 50 feet from the intersection. 4. Turn when your body is just entering the lane before the lane you are entering. Do not cross the middle of the intersection. 5. Enter the lane 1 foot from the yellow center line. 6. Move to the center of the lane.

  8. Parallel Parking A:Start in Position “D”. 1. Move to 1 foot from the edge of the parking stalls. Signal 100 feet from the space if possible. 2. Stop with your back bumper even with the front stake. 3. Turn the wheel hard right and roll backwards. You should be at about 40° when center of car is at the front stake. 4. Turn left to straighten the wheel and roll past the front stake. 5. Turn right and aim for center stake. Stop before hitting it. 6. Move forward to get your car parallel to the road and back up to center your car in the space.

  9. Angle Parking B:Start in Position “A”. 1. Move 6 feet from the back bumpers of the parked cars. 2. Signal 100 feet from the parking space if possible. 3. Turn sharply just before the space. 4. Straighten your wheels as you enter the space. 5. Stop with your front bumper evenly between the other cars.

  10. Perpendicular Parking A: Start in Position “D”. 1. Move 1 feet from the center line. Notice you will be crossing a traffic lane to do this park. 2. Signal 100 feet from the parking space if possible. 3. Turn sharply just before the space 4. Straighten your wheels as you enter the space. 5. Stop with your front bumper even with the other cars.

  11. 90° Back Perpendicular Park B:Start in Position “C”. 1. Signal 100 feet from the parking space if possible. 2. Move to 5 feet from edge of the parking stall and go 5 feet beyond the space. 3. Begin rolling back and turn the wheel all of the way to the right. 4. Straighten your wheels as the back of your car enters the space. 5. Stop when your car is in the space and wheels are straight.

  12. U Turn A: Start in Position “D”. 1. Yield to all other traffic. Have 1000 feet of visibility in all directions. 2. Signal 100 feet from the intersection if possible. 3. Move to 1 foot from the center line. 4. Slow down and observe other traffic. Turn sharply to the right. 5. Turn left after leaving the intersection. Your car should be blocking only one lane as you stop for any stop sign. 6. Repeat at the other streets.

  13. Y Turn (T Turn, 3 Point Turn) B: Start in Position “C”. This is done in the middle of a block. 1. Yield to all other traffic. Have 1000 feet of visibility in all directions. 2. Signal left 100 feet from the space if possible. 3. Move to 1 foot from the curb. 5. Slow down and observe other traffic. Turn sharply to the left. 6. Stop 6 inches from curb. 7. Put the car in reverse and turn the wheels right AS YOU ROLL BACKWARDS. 8. Drive away.
