Research evidence • Clear and agreed statement of aims • Forums for pupil participation in decision-making • Broad definition of “achievement” • Celebrating success • High expectations of ALL pupils • Open, participatory management of schools • Staff discussion on learning and teaching • Systems for monitoring pupil progress • Staff sharing insights and expertise.
