  15. You got it Right  Recording Attributes RDA 2.3.1.4 tells you to transcribe the title as found on the resource. Under the general rules for transcription (1.7) you are referred to instructions for capitalisation in Appendix A. A.4 contains the guidelines for titles of manifestations which tells you to capitalise the first letter of the first word. The alternative instruction at 1.7.1 allows institutions to follow in house guidelines on capitalisation therefore the title for this website could be recorded in capitals. Next question

At 2.8.1.4 the instruction says “transcribe places of publication and publishers' names in the form in which they appear on the source of information. Apply the general guidelines on transcription given under 1.7” At 1.7 we are instructed to transcribe the element as it appears on the resource. At 1.7.3 we can add punctuation if necessary for clarity. Appendix B gives guidelines on abbreviations, but there are no instructions for abbreviating transcribed elements – see B.4 Next question
