  4. Chapter 3: Gossip • What is gossip? Provide examples of gossip. • Why is gossiping appealing to people? • What are the dangers of gossip? • What are the gossipers saying about Gatsby?

  5. Portfolio Assignment • Topic: Gossip • Cover page: Design a cover page with art (pictures, comics, drawings etc.) that fits the topic. • Page 1: Describe gossip. Provide real-world examples and examples from The Great Gatsby. • Page 2: create a situation where gossip is the central issue. • Page 3: explain the appropriate way to handle the situation you created. • This is due next Friday, 5/16 • We will have a class discussion on your situations next Friday, 5/16!
