  2. What is a Mandala? • The word "mandala" is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit meaning "circle." • Where do we see circles? • What do circles represent?

  3. Circle Representation: • The circle appears in ALL aspects of life. • Circles represent wholeness, harmony, and transformation. • It reminds us of our relation to the infinite. • It can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of ALL life. • “Circle of Life” -Lion King

Mandala in Science • It is a pattern found in nature and is seen in biology, geology, chemistry, physics, and astronomy. • Atoms • Cells • Snail Shell • Flowers, • Rings found in tree trunks • Milky Way • Inner/ Outer Space • ...all reflect the primal mandala pattern. • Wherever a center is found radiating outward and inward, there is wholeness--a mandala.
