1 John 1:9-10,“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”

Prov 3:5,“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.”

“The backslider” - SUG סוּג“to flinch, move back from, retreat, deviate, or to be disloyal.” Figuratively to apostatize = reversionism.
One who has given up ground once taken for God. They were going forward inside His plan, but have thrown off that plan and decided to follow their own way.
This is an issue of the heart: LEB; due to the influence of his arrogance he has chosen to walk in another direction than God’s plan for his life; MIN DEREK.
As a result he “will have his fill,” SABA, שָׂבֵע, “to be satisfied, satiated, filled, or full.”
The reversionistic believer will not be full of the necessary things regarding the plan of God, but will be full of himself and his ways to satisfy the lust patterns of his Old Sin Nature.

Prov 1:31,“So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and be satiated with their own devices.”This is the repayment for their reversionistic lifestyle.
The “good man” truly lives for God and this brings satisfaction to him.
The maturing believer will be repaid for his faithful lifestyle by being fulfilled in life having inner peace and contentment as they live unto Christ daily.
Verse 15A2, The gullible versus the shrewd.Back to the opening premises.
“The naïve” - PETHIY, פֶּתִי“simple ones, young, naive ones,” being inexperienced, easily seduced, and needing instruction.
They “walk by sight” lacking the discernment that comes through experience, tending to be too trusting, unable to distinguish good counsel from bad, failing to learn from their experience, and repeat their errors.
