  3. Target Learner • 6th Grade Student • Course: Business Technology • Prerequisites: Computer Skill Level I (one year previous computer and Internet experience required). • Lesson Styles: Lesson is suitable for all learning styles.

  4. Objective • In a classroom computer lab setting, in one hour students will successfully • Research • Discuss findings within a group • Prepare a draft marketing flyer

  5. Deliverables Three Deliverables: • Research marketing materials on the internet • using handout examples and the internet • Discuss findings with group • discuss and brainstorm ideas in a group setting • Draft a marketing flyer on paper • using research and group discussion inputs, draft a flyer using paper

  6. Activities • Deliverable 1: Research marketing materials on the internet • According to CollegeGrad.com (2007), a Marketing Flyer can be highly creative and fun to work with and distribute. If well-written and designed, they are often passed to several people within the target company. Review Instructor’s handouts of professional marketing flyers. • Take notes on Instructor’s presentation of the elements and importance of attractive marketing materials. • Use the internet search tools to explore marketing layouts and materials to gain ideas that will be benchmarked for flyers. • Go to the www.Nike.comwebsite to research information on the Nike Air brand. • Go to 2 other athletic shoe companies online to view the brand marketing • Write down 3 elements of the design you either like or dislike

  7. Activities • Deliverable 2: Discuss findings with group • In a group setting, discuss and brainstorm with the group to make final decisions on your layout. • Make sure to receive at least three inputs from the group on the research

  8. Activities • Deliverable 3: Draft a marketing flyer on paper • Draft a flyer on paper that illustrates the layout and theme for the marketing flyer • Make sure to include color scheme, pictures, and text • The paper draft will be used as a guide for lesson two.
