Faculty Workshops Fulfill Your Staff Development Hours! • Intro to Learning Lab • Collaborating on Course Related Workshops for Students • Send us assignments you’ll introduce to your class. • We’ll offer a workshop tailored to the assignments. • The students review writing techniques and formats for that assignment AND, guided by the tutor, begin the assignment during the workshop. • Writing Across the Curriculum • Getting Better Papers from Students • Self-Editing Exercise • 9 Writing-to-Learn Activities

Use TLC Resources • Include TLC information on paper & online syllabi. • Invite us to your classes to inform students about the Learning and Writing Labs at the beginning and mid-term of each semester. • Provide TLC info with your writing assignments. • Refer students to us, formally or informally. • Stress that TLC is NOT simply a remedial service: we work with all writers at all levels of ability. Even experienced writers benefit! • Submit copies of your assignments to TLC.

Student Workshops Schedule one during or after class meeting hours. • Request a Learning Center Orientation for your students early in the term. • Request Course Specific Workshops. • APA, Chicago Styles • Writing Lab Reports • Essay Formats for your assignments • Request a Group Review Session. • Encourage students to attend TLC Workshops • Pre-Writing Strategies • Writing Summaries • Effective Paraphrasing
