  4. Overview of the Plan • The San Juan County Mitigation website has posted current information on the plan’s status • BSV continuing to identifying gaps in information • Data is being incorporated into draft document

  5. Updates on Information Requests What we have requested: • Changes in demographics • Commercial and other large development projects (subdivisions) • Newly completed plans such as CWPP, Comprehensive Plans- • Changes to zoning, building or environmental regulations

  6. Updates on Information Requests • Additional critical facilities • Mitigation type projects completed- i.e. flood plan mapping, flood infrastructure, vegetation management projects • Disaster events- Fire, flooding event etc. since March 2012

  7. Project Prioritization STAPLE+E - a FEMA approved method to evaluate and prioritize projects.

  9. Project Prioritization STAPLE+E • Social: Does the measure treat people fairly? • Technical: Will it work? (Does it solve the problem? Is it feasible?) • Administrative: Is there capacity to implement and manage the project? • Political: Who are the stakeholders? Did they get to participate? Is there public support? Is political leadership willing to support the project? • Legal: Does your organization have the authority to implement? Is it legal? Are there liability implications? • Economic: Is it cost-beneficial? Is there funding? Does it contribute to the local economy or economic development? Does it reduce direct property losses or indirect economic losses? • Environmental: Does it comply with environmental regulations or have adverse environmental impacts?
