Directions • Your paper size is 12x16 • Create a 1.5 inch boarder on the paper • Create one line that starts inside the boarder and the other breaks the boarder. Thicken the line with a parallel line playing with the thin and thickness of the tube. • You should have a min. of 3 tubes.
Directions • Create depth by adding curved lines, create mini “U” s, if one tube has lines in one direction the other tube must go in the opposite direction. The third is your choice. • Once you have established this in pencil, outline in sharpie.
Directions • Once you outline fill the background with black, make sure you use another paper so that the sharpie doesn’t bleed onto the desk.
Directions • Create a line in the middle of your tubes (draw lightly) this will be where the highlighted area is (or the shiny area where the light is directly shining on the surface. • Working with the first tube you can use only warm or cool colors, change colors every link or stick with three colors and alternate them. Reference the ribbon we did at the beginning of the year. • On your first layer, leave the highlighted area alone and make the ends jagged.
Directions • Find a similar color and go over the section pushing harder, then add white to the highlighted area to drag in the color making a soft edge. • TIP: if you are using a light color you need to erase your line for the highlight, it will show through.
Directions • This is a demonstration of the warm colors; on the next tube I will use cool colors. • Notice how the pencil line shows if you do not erase it. This mistake will impact your grade! • On the every color I do not color in just one color but rather, mix each color with a similar color at the edges for depth.
