Laying a Strong Foundation “It’s like a person building a house by digging deep and laying the foundation on bedrock. When the flood came, the rising water smashed against that house, But the water couldn’t shake the house because It was well built.” Luke 6:48 (CEB)
Steps to CTC Tech Success • Formulating a long-term IT plan so that the technologies we purchase actually work together and can scale and grow • Replaced end of life desktopsystems with laptops in most situations so that our team can be connected and increase the time we spend out in our respective mission fields • Have updated the software, cabling and back-up systems on our servers to increase the connections speeds and capabilities and alleviate much of the down time that was experienced in the past. • And many other techno geeky things that will curl your pocket protector if we listed them all.
The Five R’s of Getting Rid of Communications Clutter • Reorganize Communications Channels and Distribution Methods • Redistribute the responsibilities for who communicates what and when • Retire old-faithful vehicles and Replace with updated formats • Refresh the conference website
So, Where are we going? • Taking frequent trips to Storyville – sharing the narratives of the CTC • Exploring more and better ways of getting the stories to you to share • Build up the Communications Community • Going Mobile – mobile version of the conference website • Becoming more and more social • Consolidate and update conference databases
