  4. We have… • Fiction titles = over 7,400 • Non-fiction titles = over 10,400 • Magazines = 21 • Daily newspapers = 2 • eBooks = 72 • Playaways = 43 • Digital library databases = 31 • Computers = 31 • Printers = 4 Parent permission slip needed.

  5. Networking • Blog • Information pages • Curriculum pages • Contest posts • Destiny Quest • Use your school number to create an account. • All entries made by you will come to the media specialist for approval.

  6. Hours • Monday-Friday 8:30 am – 4:15 pm (with a pass) • Game Room open during study hall (with a pass) from 8:30 am - 8:50 am • Homeroom from 8:50 am - 9:05 am (with a pass) • Game room open during Thursday lunch period (sign up Monday–Wednesday; pending faculty approval)

  7. Procedures • Upon entering, place your agenda on top of the first fiction shelf (needed for emergency attendance). • Use Destiny or Destiny Quest to locate books. • Fill out a blue slip if you need help. • Holds and renewals available. • Check out with either your school photo badge or your agenda barcode sticker. • Check out 2 books for 3 weeks (unless overdue). • Check out magazines for 2 days.

  8. Procedures All School Rules Apply in the Media Center. The Media Center is NOT a B.Y.O.D. location unless you are here with a teacher who is using B.Y.O.D. Ask before printing, please. Permission slip needed for “M” rated books.

Procedures • For severe weather drills and/or emergencies, we will move into the large storage room quickly and quietly. • For lockdown drills and/or emergencies we will move into the large storage room quickly and quietly. • For fire drills and/or emergencies we will vacate the media center through the outer doors and cross over into the school parking lot.

  18. Scavenger Hunt • Work with your group to complete the scavenger hunt provided. • Give group handout to the teacher or the media specialist. • Each group member earns a new bookmark or new pencil (your choice). The Joy of Books
