The fall of the Trojans – Odysseus’s Adventures • Convinced Greek hero Achilles to join the war • Convinced Achilles’ son Neoptolemus to join • (believed to be needed to win the war) • Used his trickery powers to get Philoctetes • to join • (also believed to be needed to win the war because he is • the keeper of the bow and arrows of Hercules) In the movie“Troy” when Odysseus (Left) convinces Achilles (right) to join the war. The fall of the Trojans – Odysseus’s Adventures • He spied on the Trojans • Thinks of the famous Trojan horse • (Some may say with the help of Athena) • Plan was to: • Leave the Trojan horse in front of the fortress • Hide all the Greek ships • Leaves one man behind (Sinon) to convince the Trojans they have deserted him • At night they would all leave the horse and slaughter the Trojan people Trojan house.
