Introduction to eMO • The connected Head offices & Sub offices will book electronic Money Order for other connected Head offices (including Sub offices in account) and other connected Sub offices (including Branch Offices in account)
Features • Electronic Money Order booked and paid through Departmental POs • Fully secured since web registration of electronic Money Order offices by Divisional administrator is required and also through follow up of registration status • Unique PNR number for every Money Order booked to facilitate tracking through India Post web site
Features…. • After payment, Post Office of payment will upload payment details into system • Payment information to office of booking flows electronically • Remitter will use combined MO form that is given free of cost
Features…. • Communication messages available both through standard codes and customized • Electronic Money Order system will have provision for • Remittance from one to one • Remittance from one to many • Remittance from many to one
Booking and transmission of eMO • Remitter to fill in combined MO form and sign and tender with cash • Bulk remitter will bring consolidated list, soft copy through media like CD/ Pen drive/ Floppy etc so that the same could be uploaded while booking. • Counter Postal Assistant checks and books in Meghdoot Point of Sale • Selection of office of payment correctly with appropriate pincode is essential for quicker transmission and payment
Booking and transmission of eMO • Receipt in two copies generated • One copy to customer • Another copy pasted to form • Receipt will have 18 digit PNR number • First 6 digits- office code • Next 6 digits- date • Last 6 digits- Serial number • Electronic Money Order though written in regional language, data entered in English only
Booking and transmission of eMO • Postal Assistant signs the electronic Money Order Pay-in slip and impresses date stamp • PA working in Point of sale generates eMO issue journal at the end of the shift • Amount credited under separate head of account ‘eMO issue’ in the daily account/HO summary
Booking and transmission of eMO • Post Master/Sub Post Master checks with reference to electronic Money Order receipt, electronic Money Order Pay-in slip and electronic Money Order list information fed in the system by Postal Assistant and ensure • Correct amount & correct address of payee • Electronic Money Order form is impressed with date stamp and signed by Postal Assistant
Booking and transmission of eMO • Authorize transmission through eMO application • eMO data is transmitted to central server after authorisation through eMO client (communication module) • Pay-in slip kept in safe custody of Post Master of concerned HO for prescribed period • Cancellation not permitted once authorized or submit accounts in Point of sale is done whichever is earlier
