  3. Interoperability Regulation (1/4) • Objective: Interoperability of systems, constituents and associated procedures of the European Air Traffic Management Network (EATMN) Co-ordinated introduction of new agreed and validated concepts of operations or technology

  4. Interoperability Regulation (2/4) • Essential Requirements: 1. Seamless Operation 2.Support for new concepts of operation 3.Safety 4.Civil-military co-ordination 5. Environmental constraints 6. Principles governing the logical architecture of systems 7. Principles governing the construction of systems

  5. Interoperability Regulation (3/4) • Groups of EATMN systems: 1. Systems for airspace management 2. Systems for air traffic flow management 3. Systems for air traffic services 4. Systems for communications 5. Systems for navigation 6. Systems for surveillance 7. Systems for aeronautical information services 8. Systems for the use of meteorological information

Interoperability Regulation (4/4) • Baseline for the verification of compliance: • EC declaration of conformity or suitability for use of constituents • EC declaration of verification of systems ANSPS must provide (EC declaration + technical file) to their NSA. Airspace Users not concerned (use NPA).

Execution of Interoperability Mandates - Deliverables • Initial Plan: defines the development plan of deliverables requested by the EC mandate • Regulatory Approach: analyses the objective and scope of the implementing rule and provides a preliminary impact assessment • Draft Final Report: provides a proposed draft implementing rule and the draft justification material • Final Report: provides the draft implementing rule and the justification material
