  2. To Be An Elementary Teacher An elementary teacher are the first teachers to truly influence children with educational values, they are the first to plant the seed of education in the young minds of todays youth.

  3. Daily Tasks • Teach seven or more subjects to class • Prepare, mark and grade assignments • Monitor students for behavioral, social, or learning problems • Go to meetings, supervise clubs, take students on field trips • Complete paperwork and report cards

  4. Main Characteristics • Must be enthusiastic • Patient • Calm • Enjoy teaching children • Understanding

  5. Workplace • Work in a classroom of fifteen to thirty kids • Spend evening and nights working on school plans • Most work nine to ten month schedule

  6. Salary • Teachers can make anywhere between thirty-five thousand and eighty-five thousand dollars a year

  7. Education Needed • In high school: • English 30-1 • Math30-1 • Social 30-1 • One 30-1 level science • One Creative Arts class • In university: • Education Arts (k-12) • Elementary Education (undergraduate, graduate degree) • One Major
