Purpose • Project Newsletter (CONNECT) and functional communications should support each other and maintain consistent messages for maximum impact. • Functional communications will reference and support CONNECT content but will contain additional specific functional details on project-related activities and schedules. • Both communications will align with the project communications plan. • Preliminary topic outline provides guidance on recommended CONNECT and functional communications content. • Schedules and content can be changed depending on project status.

Benefits • Business communications is fundamental for successful change. • The communications development process prompts the Business Leads to value the need to coordinate communications with the project. • The business communications reinforces project communications • The communications effort focuses attention on the need for a robust business transition plan and the required activities to support the implementation. • Business communications is used as one method to develop functional and site readiness. • Incorporates required functional customer and vendor communications planning.
