  2. Early Life Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany on June 12, 1929 and died in a camp called Bergen-Belson in March 1945 at the age of 15. When Anne was 6 she moved to Amsterdam with her Family because her father thought that it would be safer.

  3. World War 2 and hiding • Germany invaded Poland in 1939 and World War 2 began. • Adolf Hitler was a German and he did not like the Jews. • Anne and her family were Jewish so they had to hide or they would get caught by the Germans.

  4. Anne Frank’s Diary • Anne got her diary on her 13th birthday. • Anne wrote in her diary so much that soon she had to get more paper to keep writing. • Anne named her diary Kitty and wrote about everything in it. One day there was very bad news to tell Kitty. Anne’s sister Margot was supposed to go to a camp in Germany so Anne and her family started hiding. • Anne’s diary was so famous because she wrote about what life was like hiding from the Germans.

Interesting Facts • Anne Frank’s diary was translated into more than 65 languages. • Anne was Jewish, but she did not celebrate all Jewish holidays. • Anne’s father was the only one to survive in the secret annex. When the war was over, Anne’s father was hoping to have a family reunion, but instead he learned that the rest of his family had died in the war. All that he found was Anne’s diary that someone from the secret annex had saved.
