Freshman Admission Requirements 1 Complete a minimum of 15 college-preparatory courses (“a-g”courses), with at least 11 finished prior to senior year. 2 • Earn the required grade point average (GPA) in “a-g” courses • 3.0 California resident • 3.4 Non-residents GPA calculated from 10th & 11th grade course work weighted by a maximum of 8 semesters UC-approved honors grade points • Meet the examination requirement by taking the ACT with Writing or the SAT Reasoning Test by December of your senior year. • SAT Subject Tests not required but may be recommended by some campuses/majors 3

Statement Prompts Describe the world you come from – for example, your family, community, or school – and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations. Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?
Applying for Admission Application available: October 1 Application Period: November 1-30 Application Fee: $70 / $80 International (UC does NOT have an Early Action or Early Decision process.) Financing a UC Education Is a Partnership Parents (based on FAFSA information) Students can contribute by working, taking student loans, and applying for scholarships Financial Aid Offices work with students and their families to help make college affordable, providing millions of dollars in aid to students each year.
Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan Guarantees that UC fees will be covered by grants and/or scholarships for California students from families with incomes under $80,000 Many students with financial need will receive more grant/scholarship assistance than is offered under this plan Students must submit the FAFSA and be determined to have financial need www.universityofcalifornia.edu/blueandgold
