Questions to Ponder 9-3-13 • Take out a sheet of paper. • Write the following things at the top right hand corner of your paper: • Name (First and last) • Period ____ • Seat # ____ • Write the following title at the top of the paper. QTP- The Earth • Write today’s date, “9-3” in the margin. • Answer the following question. • Brainstorm what you know about the Earth.

  4. Classification of EarthHow is do scientists classify the Earth? • Atmosphere • Geosphere • Hydrosphere • Biosphere • Astronomy

  5. Observation Activity • You will be going outside and make two observations about each sphere of the Earth. • Your observation does not have to be in complete sentences. • Make sure you underline each observation.

Questions to Ponder 9-4-13 • Take out your QTP- Earth paper we started yesterday. • Draw a line under the yesterday’s QTP. • Write today’s date, “9-4” in the margin. • Identify which sphere of the Earth each sentence is describing. • I am made up of all the water on Earth. • I am the study of space. • I am the land/rock on Earth. • I am the gases surround the Earth held by gravity.

Inference Activity • Take out the Observation Activity paper from yesterday. • Turn it to the back. • Write the following title at the top of the paper. • Inference Activity • Write the following objective on the first line of the paper. • I will infer meaning by looking at comics. • For each comic, you and your partner will answer the following questions: • What is the meaning of the comic? • List the prior knowledge you had to have in order to understand the comic. *Remember you need to answer questions in complete sentences.

Questions to Ponder 9-6-13 • Take out your QTP- Earth paper and Earth Science curriculum paper. • Draw a line under the yesterday’s QTP. • Write today’s date, “9-6” in the margin. • Use your Earth Science curriculum paper to answer the following questions. • List what you need to have everyday in order to succeed in class. • What can you do so you can turn in your science homework you forgot to do last night? • What percentage of your grade is made up of quizzes or tests? • What must you have in order to make up a quiz or test? • You would like to leave the classroom to go to the restroom. What must you have in order to do this?
