Review • SECOND EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF EARLY PREVENTION IN CHILDREN WITH VERBAL COMMUNICATION DISORDERS - took part in Sofia, NBU, 26-28.september 2008 • Congress organized NBU-Sofia, Bulgaria, IEPSP- Belgrade, Serbia, P.A.L.O – Patras,Greece • Congress has been held in NBU; opened at 14h onSeptember 26.2008. by President Mirjana Sovilj and Co President Violeta Boyanova. • There has been presented 5 introduction lectures; papers were presented in 22 sessions • Papers were from different scientific fields: Logopedics, Audiology, Prenatal Psychology, Psychology, Electroacoustics, Experimental Phonetics, Sociology, Pedagogic, Neurology, Bioingeuring

Conclusions • Congress has provided exchange of multidisciplinary knowledge and experience in field of prevention, early detection, diagnostics and treatment of verbal communication disorders • We have started procedure for announcement OF AN INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST VERBALCOMMUNICATION DISORDERS TO GET ATTENTIONOF PUBLICONTHISSERIOUS PROBLEM WITHFAR-REACHINGCONSEQUENCES. • Science of speech and language disorders, being autochthonous science with defined diagnostics, therapy and prosthetics,  is to be called logopedy exclusively, and the professional is to be called logopedist. These two terms are to be used authentically in all languages. • It has been emphasised the significance of volunteerism and the need of its support by the states • New Journal: DISORDERSof COMMUNICATION, speech and language,behavior and learning in collaboration with IEPSP- Belgrade, Serbia, P.A.L.O – Patra, Greece and NBU-Sofia, Bulgaria
