Tooling Design Engineer - Inventor Salary - £40,000- £50,000 Role and Responsibilities: - Design of Precision Tooling assemblies and systems, including production of detail drawings, BOMs and assembly drawings- Liaison with suppliers (internal and external) to ensure components are cost-effectively manufactured to meet design requirements- Manufacturing support, working concurrently with Manufacturing Engineers to ensure Design for Manufacture- Responsibility for all tooling facets of a project from initial concepts through to production/completionSkills/Requirements: - The successful candidate will have previously worked within a mechanical design / tool design role preferably within a precision/machine tool industry- Experience of using 3D CAD software, preferably NX and Autocad Inventor - CAM experience- Understanding of machine tool design & construction- A self motivated individual you will have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary project team, which oversees projects from start to finish.- Good practical knowledge of manufacturing methods- The ability to negotiate, influence, and communicate effectively, with customers, vendors, and internal personnel at all levels- Be able to carry out supporting calculations relating to designs- PC literate, particularly using MS Office - Able to deal effectively with ambiguity and multiple problems whilst working under pressure. Formal Qualifications: - HNC/D, degree, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or directly related subjectDesired abilities/attributes:- Machine tool design - Fixture Tool design - Non-traditional machining processes such as Laser, EDM and ECM.
