Using the SMART Board™ Smartly 1 WRITING AND SAVING A PRESENTATION ON THE SMART BOARD There are two ways to draw or write with the SMART Board < Smart Board Tool Bar > • Using Smart Notebook software • Click the “Smart Notebook” icon. • Draw or write, whatever is relevant to your file. • 2. Using PowerPoint or any other software • Click the “Floating Tools”. • Open your file to present. • Draw or write something as you present. • Capture the screen by clicking the button ( ) • Select the area that you want to capture. • An image automatically goes to the Smart Notebook. • To Save, maximize the Smart Notebook to view. • Go directly to “Save”in the file menu. • If you want a PDF file, go to “Export” and select PDF. < Floating Tools > 2 ORIENTING THE INTERACTIVE BOARD When your writing does not correspond to the projected image 1) Select “Orient/Align Settings” on the SMART Board“Control Panel”. 2) You will see a 9-point orientation screen. Press the center of each red cross until they have all been touched.  Use a fine-point tool instead of your finger for precision. < Orientation Screen > 3 RECORDING A VIDEO OF YOUR SMART BOARD PRESENTATION Click on the “Recorder” icon on the start menu. A control panel will open. Click on the recording button. Perform the procedure you would like to record. Click the stop button when you are done. A window will open, prompting you to save the media file (.avi) you have created. Save the file in an appropriate location. A window will pop up informing you that the recording is complete, click OK. < Recorder Tool> 9/15/2008 Version 1
