A shift in direction a 2006 survey revealed our heaviest users of electronic resources are engaged in scientific research in social, medical, and environmental sciences. Respondents to this survey reported a desire for online access to academic, peer-reviewed research journals and document delivery of articles directly to their desktops. Having such intensive users in a diverse array of workspaces throughout the state of Missouri dictates a shift toward remotely accessible resources.
