  5. 1. Gas Utilization Program Introduction GasUtilization Program is approved by Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of RK • MEMR RK Minutes of Meeting # 5/1, June 15, 2006 Adjust program was approved • MEMR RK Minutes of Meeting #3/11,August 22, 2007 (construction completion period precise definition) Kumkol 1st stage - In December 2007 Kumkol 2ndstage - In November 2008 Kyzylkia and Aryskum - In December 2007 Maibulak – In November 2008

  6. content 1. Introduction of Gas Utilization Program 2. Construction of Gas Utilization Program 3. Current status of Gas Utilization Program

  7. 2.1 Kumkol Gas Utilization Project Implementation of Gas Utilization Project is stipulated by 2 stages. • 1st stage – Construction of gas injection facilities. • 2nd stage – Gas gathering system expansion and increasing of Gas Turbine Units’ (GTU) capacity.

  8. 2.1 Kumkol Gas Utilization Project • Construct Compressors’ station with 2 booster compressor units and 1 injection compressor unit. • Drill 2 gasinjection wells # 271 and 272. • Designed capacity of Kumkol South Gas Injection Facility amounts 51 million m3/year (140 thousandm3/day). • Expenses for 1st stage amount to 17.4 million US$. 1st stage of Gas Utilization Project Facilities.

  9. 2.1 Kumkol Gas Utilization Project 2nd stage of Gas Utilization Project facilities. • Construct gas gathering system with purpose to tie-in all facilities to existing gas utilization system. • Construct additional 4th unit at existing Gas Turbine Units Station.

  10. 2.1 Kumkol Gas Utilization Project

  11. 2.2 Kyzylkia Gas Utilization Project Gas export from Kyzylkia field to Aryskum field for injection into gas cap. • Install 2 booster compressor units. • Construct 27 km, 10" "Kyzylkia - Aryskum" gas pipeline . • Capacity of compressor units – 100 thousand m3/day each. • Expenses for implementation of the Project was 19.7 million $.

  12. 2.2 Kyzylkia Gas Utilization Project

  13. 2.3 Aryskum Gas Utilization Project Gas Utilization Project facilities. • Construct Compressors’ station with two booster compressor units and two injection compressor units has been built. • Drill 5 additional gas injection wells. • Lay Additional 22 km of pipelines for gas injection system. • Gas injection station capacity – 854 thousand m3/day. • Expenses for Project implementation amount to 30.5 million US$.

  14. 2.3 Aryskum Gas Utilization Project

  15. 2.4 Maibulak Gas Utilization Project Project provides for using gas for power generation, and injection of excess gas into formation. • Install 2 gas reciprocating generator sets for power generation1 MW each • Install 2 booster units and 1 injection compressor unit for injection of excess gas into formation. • Construct pipelines for gas injection system, total length up to 6.5 km.

  16. 2.3 Maibulak Gas Utilization Project

  17. content 1. Introduction of Gas Utilization Program 2. Construction of Gas Utilization Program 3. Current status of Gas Utilization Program

  18. 3.1 Kumkol Gas Utilization Project In December 2007, 1st stage of Gas Utilization Project was completed and accepted by State Commission for operation. • Gas injection started at well # 271 in early March, 2008. • Actual volume of injected gas makes 70 thousand m3/day. • Gas is supplied to compressor station from 6 GS (group stations), equiped by field compressors units. • Facilities not covered by Gas Utilization Project – 12 group stations, CPF, FWKO, CGF.

  19. 3.1 Kumkol Gas Utilization Project Progress of the 2 stage. Engineering is in progress. 13.5 km of pipes of various size, pipe fittings, 6 "Propak" field gas compressor units have been purchased. MAR's for procurement ofthe basic electrical equipment, fire suppression system equipment placed. Expenses for the Project considering commitments have made 4.8 million US$ with the expected budget of 19.8 million US$.

  20. 3.2 Kyzylkia Gas Utilization Project In December 2007,Gas Utilization Project was completed and accepted by State Commission for operation. • Gas transportation started in early March, 2008.

  21. 3.2 Aryskum Gas Utilization Project In December 2007,Gas Utilization Project was completed and accepted by State Commission for operation. • Gas injection started in early March, 2008. • Not tied-in to gathering system and gas utilization facilities – 9 wells.

  22. 3.4 Maibulak Gas Utilization Project • Engineering complete. • Two “GE Jenbacher”gas reciprocating generator units, two booster and one injection compressor units, ancillary process equipment, vessels, premises have been purchased. • Electrical equipment, electrical materials and Instrumentation completely purchased. 90-95% of piping material purchased and delivered. • Project expenses considering commitments amount 10.6 million US$ with expected budget of 15 million US$ . • Actual commissioning is expected in November, 2008.
