COOPERATION BETWEEN CIVIL SOCIETY AND UNIVERSITY ORGANIZATION • The importance of linking and strengthening the cooperation between civil society organizations and universities in integrating the content and methodology of civic education into higher education programs, and thereby highlighting the civilian mission of the university. • Challenges of learning for citizenship in tertiary education - education can not be deprived of social values ​​and must encourageinclusiveness;the importance of school-based demographic education at school level; develop more courses to develop the civic competence of all students, especially teaching (they need to be prepared for teaching civic education, civic education courses as a mandatory part of pedagogical and psychological education and specialist studies).

  3. Examples of good practice at the tertiary level for the development of student civic competences; the importance of developing student practice in cooperation with associations (for example:development and opportunities of socially useful learning programs through the support of the European Social Fund).

CHARACTERISTICS OF HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION • POLICY AWARENESS: All the issues of concern take into account the social, political and economic contradictions in their community, as well as the consequences of their own choices and decisions, and to see options for action against the obsessive elements of the world we are in. Features: • normative (value-based), • focusing on theproblem, • conceptually: generates ideas, new discoveries, • holistic (multidisciplinary, interrelated), • ecological (livingsystems), • integrated approach (combining theory, pedagogy and action - a) theory: examination of the dominant paradigm, b) pedagogy: a commitment to the development of skills, c) action: personal, structural and cultural transformation).

FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHYIN SPLIT: TEACHER STUDY • Module 3: Education for Sustainable Development • based on UN issues of education for sustainable development (democracy, justice, ethics, human rights, preservation of cultural heritage, health, biological and landscape diversity, protection of the environment and nature, climate change, natural resource management), and the purpose is to enable future Primary Education Master in Implementation of Education for Sustainable Development in Their Career Work. • Within this module, the following courses are being conducted: • Education for Sustainable Development in Primary Education • Social ecology

CONCLUSIONS • Greatersensitivity to the agenda of HumanRightsin TeacherTraining Programscompared to earlier. • Allfaculties have courses of HumanRightsfrom the 1st semester onwards.A smaller number of courses are regular, more courses are elective. • Teacher Education Study in Split has a special module with a large number of regular courses of HumanRights. • Requiresgreater cooperation between Universitiesand Schoolswith Non-governmental organizations and other Social, Culturaland EducationalInstitutionsin local communities to achieve the objectives of HumanRightsEducation.

  20. CONCLUSIONS • Are the faculties, schools and local institutions and organizations sufficiently encouraged to cooperate (necessity in the implementation of different projects with real indicators of change)? • Arethe future teachers andeducators are sufficiently educated to carry outHumanRightsEducationand make real positive changes in their local environment? • Are there any blockages in the country and particular interests not to develop HumanRightsEducationand the actions that result from such education?
