  2. MSDE and AAR Overview • MSDE • Accomplishments v1.0 to v2.0 • Large Terrain Support • Ultra Low Resource (ULR) support • PTR fixes • On the horizon for v3.0 • Stand-Alone MSDE • NIMA Map support • Import Task Org from ABCS systems • AAR • Accomplishments v1.0 to v2.0 • Replay and Bookmarks • Replay from Unit snapshot data • Performance Enhancements (15k to 32k entities) • PTR fixes • On the horizon for v3.0 • Additional Data Collection Performance • PTR fixes • Merge Joint After Action Review (JAAR) changes back to OneSAF baseline

  3. MSDE v2.0 New Capabilities • Support for Large Terrains • MSDE supports UTM map projections across two UTM zones • MSDE provides the ability to select the map area from a GDC (lat, long) Platt-Carree Projection.

  4. Large Terrain Support

  5. MSDE v2.0 New Capabilities • Support for Ultra Low Res entities • MSDE modified to import ULRs from the Parametric & Initialization Repository (PAIR) • MSDE modified to export ULRs to MSDL

  6. MSDE Accomplishments v1.0 to v2.0 • Terrain importer • Performance improvements • Increased usability and ASDB file auto-generation capabilities • Unit Database (Composition) Importer • Increased usability • Support added for new FCS units and entities

  7. MSDEAccomplishments v1.0 to v2.0 • MSDL Extensions • Weapon control status • Free, Tight, Hold • MOPP level • Level 0 through 5 • BOS support for Support Relations • Fires, Intelligence, Engineer, Chemical, and Not Specified. • Updated MSDE to run with fewer OneSAF dependencies (Java code)

  8. Military Scenario Definition Language (MSDL) Extensions Weapon Control Status MOPP Status BOS support for Support Relations

  9. On the horizon for v3.0 • Stand-Alone MSDE • NIMA Map Support • Import Task Organizations from ABCS • PTR fixes

  10. AAR Accomplishments v1.0 to v2.0 • Replay and Bookmarks • Enables the user to mark specific events from which to replay. • User can enter comments. • Bookmarks remember replay settings, eye point and tether options. • Bookmarks are common to 2D and 3D replay. • Comments/annotations can be reused for multiple bookmarks (no need to reenter the comments)

  11. AAR Accomplishments v1.0 to v2.0 • Performance enhancements to support 15k and 32k entity exercises • Managed queries (views) are created when the database is created, reducing report build time. • Replay & Query performance enhancements reduced load time by 90%. • .NET Framework upgrade increased data collection by 19%. • PostgreSQL upgrade increased data processing by 20%. • Replay upgrade provide a Unit level capability.

  12. AAR Accomplishments v1.0 to v2.0 • Ability to optionally replay from snapshot data. • Enables replay to scale to exercises with large entity counts and\or long execution times. • Replay is conducted at the rate of one snapshot each second. • The snapshot interval set when the data was collected establishes the rate.

  13. Replay and Bookmarks

  14. Manage Bookmarks • Users can add, edit, and delete bookmarks from the recorded AAR database.

  15. Edit/Specify a Bookmark • Users can specify bookmark: • Time • Duration • Comments

  16. Snapshot Replay and Bookmarks

  17. On the horizon for v3.0 • Additional data collection performance enhancements. • PTR fixes • Merge JAAR changes back to OneSAF baseline • User interface enhancements • Additional Chart Authoring capabilities • Presentation Author • Agent technology
