  12. Profile of a Successful Candidate A degree in Political Science requires someone who takes the responsibilities and opportunities of membership in a democratic society seriously. Specifically, Political Science is for persons who are interested in careers in law, business, journalism, public and international affairs, government office (at any level), teaching, interest groups, campaign management, and others. However, only those students wishing to impact this country on a local, state, federal, or global level need apply.
