Use of the conditional 1 It can express: a) advice, b) desire/wishes and c) courtesy: • a) En tu lugar yo no viajaría sola a Centroamérica. • If I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t travel alone to Central America. • b)Nos gustaría visitar Tikal. • We would like to visit Tikal. • c)¿Me prestarías tu guía de Guatemala? • Would you lend me your Guatemala guide? 2 It expresses the future in relation to the past: La agente de viajes les dijo que tendría los boletos de avión listos para el jueves. The travel agent told them he would have the plane tickets ready by Thursday.
