  2. Early life • He was born in 1510 in Salamanca Spain • His family was very rich and wealthy • He moved to Mexico in 1535 • He became assistant govener a year later

  3. sponsorors • His sponsoror was the governor Mendoza of Mexico who wanted him to come back with gold. Lots of gold.

  4. motive • To find the 7 gold citys of cildobla that were rumored to have as much gold as the aztecs once had.

  5. route • He went through arizona and new mexico.

  6. expidition • He set out in 1540. • He killed many zuniindians. • He did not find the seven citys of gold. • He conquered new mexico and arizona. • He started a war called the tiguex war against the zuniindans • In 1541 he split up into two groups. Coronado’sgroup found the grand canyon. • He returned to mexico in 1542

  7. Later life • When he got back to mexico he got thrown in prison. • The government oficials were very mad at him forr not finding gold. • Only the priests were happy because he converted some Indians to christanity.

  8. death • He died of phenemonia in jail. He died in 1554.
