COST is supported by the EU RTD Framework Programme ESF provides the COST Office through an EC contract

  3. PERGAMON webpage It should be up and running with basic information early next year (end of January).

Structure: • Reasoning and aims (Introduction) • Methane as greenhouse gas & Arctic warming => we don’t know enough to evaluate the possible importance in the future • Funding facts: period of Action, COST contact person • Network • Participating countries and institutes (with expertise) • Structure of WGs, MC members • Information and contact for interested parties to join • Activities • Workshops & conferences • Upcoming field work

  6. Structure: • Fieldwork and Expedition Forum • “Search and Offer” site for joining cruises or filed campaigns • PhD forum • Advertising PhD or student positions (posting a free position could be done via a pwd protected webpage)

Structure: • Intranet • Names, contact details, functions of members wihtin PERGAMON • Pergamon meeting schedule (MC and workgroup meetings, conferences, reporting deadlines) • Download area: papers, COST forms, email distribution lists (MC, work groups, PERGAMON all) • Upload information interface

Important questions: • Who is making the webpage • Who is maintaining the webpage • One central person/institute getting all the information and putting it online • Several web administrators for specific tasks using CMS (e.g. Joomla) • Which server will be used • How do we call it (www.COST-PERGAMON.eu)

Lists/data to be compiled: • Contact details of all MC and WG leaders • Upcoming workshops and conferences • Links to other related web-pages, societies, projects, networks (e.g. Pyrn, Arcticnet, etc.) • Position offers • Fieldwork and cruises to join • Links to databases • Photos that can be used on the webpage • Associated research (projects) by COST members
