Reconciliation • Colossians 1:15-20: Reconcile all things to Himself • Christ is pictured as the Creator v 16 • All 3 parts of the Trinity played a role, Mk 10:6, Gen 1:2 • All things created FOR Him v 16: doxological purpose • All things originally created “very good” Gen 1:31 • Definition of reconciliation • Restore a right relationship

  3. Reconciliation • What broke the relationship between God and creation? • SIN • All things created for Christ; however, sin tainted things cannot glorify Christ • God in His infinite grace and mercy provided a way for man to be reconciled • God will reconcile the creation also

The Problem: Sin • Satan’s rebellion: pre-Adam • Isaiah 14:13-14 • Revelation 12:3-4: takes the fallen angels with him • Volition? • Adam’s rebellion • Creation was “very good” Gen 1:31 • Satan attacks the basis for all truth, i.e. God’s Word Gen 3:1-5 • Proverbs 1:7, only a fool would despise instruction from the Creator
