  2. Read the chapter prior to class. Take chapter notes. Be proactive! Preview.

  3. Go to class everyday! Come to class prepared. Take notes in class. Become actively involved in learning. Participate in class by asking and answering questions. Attend Class!

  4. Rewrite your notes ASAP after a lecture. Recall is usually 90% when study occurs immediately following class. Review the chapter you just read. Edit your chapter notes. Merge chapter and lecture notes. Review.

  5. Use Time Wisely. • Create a semester schedule. • Include times for classes, work, and study.

Chemistry test __ Volunteer at Boys Club __ Go grocery shopping __ Rewrite History notes – quiz next Mon. __ Concert tickets for Sat. __ Read chapter 10, math – review on Wed. __ Clean house

  8. Studying • Establish a SPECIFIC PLACE and a SPECIFIC TIME to study. • Study in 50 minute increments. • Take frequent breaks. • Study the most challenging classes first.

  9. Studying • Study a minimum of 2 hours for every hour in class each week. • Use study aids: flash cards, computer tutorials, and previous exams.
