  11. As you read: • Keep note of words you don’t recognize (you’ll need them later) • Decide whether or not you believe Albert Ostman’s story

  12. QuestionsforSasquatch: • Focus on Reading # 1-6 • Then find 5 words you found difficult or weren’t familiar with and find their definitions.

  13. How to Spot a Sasquatch

  14. Answers: • Briefly describe the appearance and the habitat of the Sasquatch. Sasquatch is from 6 to 9 feet tall and weighs from 600 to 900 lbs. The main habitat of Sasquatch is in the vicinity of Harrison Lake, British Columbia.

  15. 2. Why did Albert Ostman not report his adventure? Ostman was afraid of ridicule and he wanted to forget the experience.

  16. 3. a) How did Ostman’s adventure with Sasquatch begin? Ostman was searching for a lost gold mine in a remote area of British Columbia. His adventure began when he was taken from his camp on Loba Inlet.

  17. 3. b) Where did the Sasquatch take him? The Sasquatches took him to their camp, a small valley surrounded by high mountains.

  18. 4. How was he treated during his time with the Sasquatch? What signs were there that he would not be harmed? He was treated fairly well. He was left alone, but he was not allowed to leave. The Sasquatch did not hurt him; the “boy” gave him some of their food, and they began to become friends.

  19. 5. How did Ostman escape? Ostman tricked the Sasquatch into swallowing a whole box of snuff. When it became ill, he ran for the opening in the wall. He fired a shot to frighten the others, then ran away.

  20. 6. Do you believe Ostman’s report? Why or why not? What errors of faults are there in his argument? What other explanations can you give for an experience like Ostman’s? What do you think?
