Stage • Where you place the specimen to be observed
Stage clips • Holds specimen or slide in place • Do not bother with these because they will get in your way!
Diaphragm • Adjusts amount of light shining on specimen
Adjustment knobs • Bring image into focus • Coarse used for low power • Fine used for medium and high power
Arm and Base • Structural parts that you hold when transporting microscopes
