  3. What is Malaria? • Malaria is a fever-disease transmitted by mosquitos • In the first stadium it can easily be confused with a normal chill • There are several types of malaria

There are three types of malaria -Malaria tertiana incubation time: 8 to 20 days classic remittent fever, 2 days fever, 1 day without fever -Malaria quartana incubation time: 3 to 7 weeks classic remittent fever, 2 days fever, 2 days without fever -Malaria tropica incubation time: 7 to 14 days irregular „fever-periods“

  5. Where does it exist mainly? • As the map will show malaria is a big problem basically in the whole middle of Africa!

The Problems going along with Malaria • It cannot always be diagnosed early enough • Some of the pharmaceuticals don‘t have an effect any more because the causative organisms are already immune • The people don‘t have money to pay the pharmaceutical • Sometimes there are even not enough of the pills to cure them • Unhygienic conditions • Not enough hospitals • Some people don‘t want to recognize that they are ill • It is nearly impossible to eliminate it

  8. What can we do against it? • You can buy a net in the web. For approximately 10 $ you can administer a mosquito-net to save a human‘s life as the mosquitos are mainly active at night • Put a banner on your website! The more people know about the situation, the better it is! • Donate money to officially and serious organisations like “Ärzte ohne Grenzen“, even if it is not inevitable used for malaria-victims, the money will definitely help people to have a better life

Interesting Facts • Did you know that only female mosquitos are jabbing? • Even in Germany we have around 1000 cases of malaria a year • Malaria is one of the oldest diseases in the world • Recently, the number of malaria-victims jumped up to 3.000 a day! • Malaria is a problem of about 90 states in the world
