Trench Warfare • Miles of trenches snaked through Western Europe from 1914-1918 • Each side had their own trenches filled with soldiers, trench life was horrible. • Water in the trenches would cause trench foot(like athletes foot but worse).
Unrestricted Submarine Warfare • Unrestricted submarine warfare is a type of naval warfare in which submarines sink merchant ships without warning • The use of unrestricted submarine warfare was announced by Germany on January 9th, 1917. • This provoked an American response and was one of the major reasons America joined the war.
