Overview • Purpose • Provide a simple way of dynamically discovering the PAA IP address from the PaC • Helps with scalable PaC configuration • How it works • The PaC transmits a link local multicast discovery message to a well known port • A new PDR (PANA-Discovery-Request) message is used • The PAA that supports the discovery scheme listens to that port and responds with an answer • PAA uses a corresponding PDA (PANA-Discovery-Answer) message • The PaC realizes the IP address of the PAA from the source IP address of the answer message • PDRs/PDAs need not carry any AVPs IETF71 PANA WG
