IAT Purpose and Outcomes • Develop a vision and implementation strategy for a deployable statewide NG9-1-1 solution • Leverage lessons learned from existing pilots • Identify current resources and obstacles • Gap analysis • Sustainable model • Present final IAT document at January 2012 meeting of 9-1-1 Services Board • Legislative changes • Regulatory impediments • Governance issues • State-level coordination • Funding • Infrastructure needs • Confidentiality/liability
IAT Charter/Meeting Schedule • The purpose of the charter is to keep IAT members and staff focused on what we want to accomplish • First order of business is consensus among IAT members as to the validity of the charter itself • Additions • Deletions • Other modifications • Current draft of charter recommends a bi-monthly meeting schedule • Is this an appropriate meeting schedule? • If so, suggest conference calls be held on the first and third week of every month • Duration of calls limited to one-hour • Other deliverables than those listed? • Final version of charter will be posted to the ISP website • IAT will have its own webpage
Work Group Assignments • Small groups, comprised of 2 -3 IAT members, will develop status reports on components and provide update on regular IAT calls • Legislative changes (Aug –first call) • Regulatory impediments (Aug – second call) • Governance issues (Sept – first call) • State-level coordination (Sept – second call) • Funding (Oct – first call) • Infrastructure needs (Oct – second call) • Confidentiality/liability (Nov – first call) • Template needed for consistent format • (Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) • Staff will integrate status reports into larger document and coordinate other deliverables • White paper on how states are planning for NG9-1-1 (Governance Issues) • White paper on lessons learned from regional pilots (Technical framework) • Initial Funding Model: • Appropriateness of current funding methodology for NG9-1-1 • Analysis of legacy and NG9-1-1 recurring costs and recommendations for PSAP Grant Program
Tasks/Action Items • Complete assignment of IAT members to smaller work groups • Create template for status report • Provide summary of today’s meeting to IAT members • Stand up separate web page for NG9-1-1 IAT on ISP website and post final version of IAT charter • Other tasks and action items
