Pennsylvania PTA State Rules for the Reflections program. Submit original works of art in various categories, such as music, dance, film, literature, photography, and visual arts. Follow guidelines and submit necessary forms for participation.

Pennsylvania PTA State Rules • Students must attend the school in which their entry is submitted. • Reflections is a PTA perk..in order to receive the perk, your school needs to be a PTA. • Your PTA must be in good standings. • What is good standings • Membership paid to state office by due date • Bylaws have been update within the last 5 years • Audit report filed with the state office by due date

What players need to enter the game • Submit an entry form • Original work of ONE student • Entry, entry form, & cd submitted in legal envelope • Envelope and entry labeled on back with code
What the Team needs to submit What to send to make the playoffs • Original work of the winning team players headed to the next level along with their entry form and CD if applicable. • Participation forms 3 copies • PTA Registration Form 2 copies forward 1 hard copy mailed to state chair.
Divisions • Musical Composition • Saved as either MP3, MP4, WMA, WAV, ACC, FLAC • Artist Statement • Performers • Instruments/program • No more then 5 minutes in length • No student names
Divisions • Dance Choreography • Saved in AVI, MOV, MPG, MPEG, WMV, FLV • Performers/background music • Artist statement • Can have up to three dancers • Student must be camera person &choreographer • May use tripod • If wearing dance costume, must be made my the student submitting the entry • No more then 5 minutes in length • No student names
Divisions • Film Production • Must be saved in either AVI, MOV, MPG, MPEG, WMV, FLV • Artist statement • Program used / camera used • Performers / background music • Student must be camera person (tripod can be used) • No more then 5 minutes in length • No student names
Divisions • Literature • Entries must not exceed 2,000 words • May be hand written or typed • Must reflect age appropriate grammar, punctuation and spelling. • Original and one copies must be submitted • May not be mounted • If more then one page must number pages in bottom right corner • Artist statement • Standard paper size (8 ½ by 11)
Divisions Photography • Prints must be mounted on sturdy material • NO FRAMES • May be single print or collage • May not exceed 11x14 inches including matte • Must include CD image in jpeg format • Camera/location/date/developed/ • Artist statement / Title Required
Divisions Visual Arts • All art must be flat, NO 3-D, nothing can be extended off of art • Entries not to exceed 24/30 inches including matte • No lamination • Must included CD image in jpeg format • Artist statement / title required • Medium used/size
Division Special Artist • Students with disabilities can enter in any of the standard categories • Items are judged separate from standard categories • Local level moves on top 6 total • Council moves on top 6 total • Region moves on top 6 total
Making the Score • Three areas for judging rubric • Possible 40 points per entry • Interpretation of theme 20 points • Artistic Merit/Creativity 10 points • Mastery of Medium 10 points
