NSO • Support provided to National Sport Organizations is targeted to priority areas consistent with the objectives of the Canadian Sport Policy.

Eligibility Criteria • Section A: General Criteria • Section B: National Scope • Section C: International Scope To achieve Eligibility, NSOs must meet : • all the criteria in Section A. • all criteria in either Section B or C.
Eligibility Criteria Actual situation • Section A: 4/17 • Section B: 1/3 • Section C: 3/4
Eligibility Criteria Section B • The NSO has a minimum of 3,000 members. • The NSO has a minimum of 8 affiliated PSOs • The NSO has a National Championship in which a minimum of 6 PSOs compete regularly in at least one category.

Eligibility Criteria Section C • Affiliated with International Body (WFDF) • 35 member countries of the International Body • Minimum of 20 countries have competed in the last 4 senior championships • At least 1 top 8 finish since 1996 at a world championship
Eligibility Criteria Section A • Sport Canada “Definition of sport” • NSO is the single national governing body • Volunteer leadership structure (democratically elected) • Incorporated under Part III of Canadian Corp. Act
Eligibility Criteria Section A • Constitution & by-laws in French & English • Audited financial statements for the last 4 yrs • Committed to providing its safe sport programs based on Long Term Participant/Athlete Development Model • Multi-year plan(ratified by the Board of directors)
Eligibility Criteria Section A • Formally committed to the principle of technically and ethically sound coaching education and conduct. • Formally committed to the principle of technically and ethically sound officiating education and conduct. • Adopted the Canadian Policy on Doping in Sport. • Formal policy on Official Languages
Eligibility Criteria Section A • Policy demonstrating commitment to equity and access(women, persons with a disability and Aboriginal peoples) • Policy on athlete centeredness and can demonstrate the direct involvement of high performance athletes in decision-making. • Recognizes the role and importance of certified coaches through their involvement in athlete development programs and in the technical direction of national team programs.
Eligibility Criteria Section A • Formal policy on harassment and abuse, including procedures for the reporting and for the investigation of complaints. • Internal Appeal process consistent with established principles of due process and natural justice and containing a provision that allows disputes to be referred to the alternate dispute resolution services of the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada.
