  41. Consumption Report: Adjustments

  42. Adjustments: What are they? August Last Year Electric Usage: 400,000 kWh August This Year Electric Usage: 500,000 kWh That’s not fair! We had a 30 day heat wave this year. My big wrench and I think you should check those numbers again. According to this, you used 25% more electricity than last year. Way to be wasteful.

  43. Adjustments figure out the energy used when:

  44. Adjustments in Action • 1 CDD = 200 kWh • 450 Cooling Degree Days 450 CDD X 200 kWh 90,000 kWh

  45. Calculating Adjustments 5 year history of: • Temperature • Occupancy • Usage

  46. Adjustments: What are they? August Last Year Electric Usage: 400,000 kWh August Last Year Adjusted Usage: 490,000 kWh August This Year Electric Usage: 500,000 kWh That sounds reasonable. We did forget to turn lights off in unused rooms. We’ll have to post reminders for everyone. I crunched the numbers. Turns out if last year was as hot as this year the difference in your electric usage is only 2%.
