  3. Symptomen • Inhoudelijke denkstoornis = gestoord realiteitsbesef - hallucinatie - wanen • Formele denkstoornis = cognitieve desoriëntatie - associaties - herhalingen

  4. Nog 7 psychotische stoornissen • schizofrenieformestoornis • schizo-affectieve stoornis • waanstoornis • de kortdurende stoornis • de gedeelde psychotische stoornis • de niet-functionele of organische psychosen die samengaan met een somatische aandoening of middelengebruik • psychotische stoornissen niet anderszins omschreven

  5. Leeftijd, preventie en beloop (van schizofrenie) • Komt voor bij alle leeftijden (ongeveer zelfde symptomen) • Overal ter wereld, onafhankelijk van cultuur • Kans = 1% • Veel cannabisgebruik verhoogt de kans • Suïcidepercentage= 10% (niet per se door symptomen) • Beloop bij 75% chronisch

  6. Diagnostiek • Geen tests of taken • Gesprekken ! - verhaal kwijt kunnen - patiënt nooit tegenspreken - vragen uit semi-gestructureerde interviews • differentiaal diagnostiek • onderzoeken - middelengebruik - somatische oorzaak

  7. Psychose en geweld • Veronderstelling: een psychotische patiënt is gevaarlijk • Bewezen: ze gebruiken meer geweld dan mensen zonder psychopathologie • Vergeleken met patiënten met persoonlijkheidsstoornissen of verslavingsproblematiek gebruiken ze minder geweld

  8. Behandeling • 1e stap: contactherstel • 2e stap: psycho-educatie (kennis, coping en steun van psychiater en psycholoog) • 3e stap:cognitieve gedragstherapie (bij inhoudelijke denkstoornis) of levende prothese (bij cognitieve desoriëntatie) • Medicatie, rust en zorg
