2. Apostrophe Definition • The sign ’ that means that it has one or more letters in the word that is being used. • If its unpronounced like the word in o’er for over. • If pronounced like the word gov’ for government.

3. Apostrophe • Apostrophes are also used to indicate plurals of abbreviations and symbols. • Like M.D.’s or 3’s

4. Examples of Apostrophes' • Some stories have didactic purpose do that the readers don’t end up doing the same thing as the character.
