Albert – Einstein - Gymnasium Albert - Einstein - Gymnasium Hameln was founded in 1972 - it was the third Secondary school in Hamelin - on 5th September 1972 the first lesson was taught - in the beginning there were 161 pupils - AEG specialized in Science and Modern Foreign Languages
AEG today - nowadays there are about 1200 pupils (Year 5 – 12) - there are several school clubs which are very popular among our students such as: the choir the drama goup
Extra-curricular activites have always been very important for us...
…in the town centre you may follow the Pied Piper, admire beautiful historical buildings or just sit in one of the numerous cafés and watch people passing by in the shopping areas…

Hamelin is also famous for its Weser-Renaissance style which is a variation of a serious Italian architecture theme. It is a peculiar architectural style of the 16th and early 17th century. Significant features of this architecture are: the spectacular and aboundingly subdivided facades. This type of architecture also includes protruding bay-windows ("Utluchten").
….but there is more than that to the town. • Around Hamelin, in the „Weserbergland“, you find yourself in a green and hilly landscape with wonderful parks and grounds, castles, country houses and historical buildings.
„Ohrbergpark“ in the suburb of Klein Berkel in Hamelin, (about 4 km from the centre), is famous for its blossoming rhododendron
Traditional park at the health resort „Bad Pyrmont“, about 15 km from Hamelin
„Herrenhäuser Gärten“, artificial grounds going back to the 17th century. Herrenhausen belongs to the city of Hanover.
