Grants • LSTA—Library Services and Technology Act—IMLS (Institute for Museum and Library Services)—(http://www.imls.gov/programs/programs.shtm) states receive federal funds, and the amounts vary depending upon state population; local entities/agencies establish criteria for the types of projects that are needed in the state; grant funds must go to legally established libraries. • Gates Grants—(http://www.gatesfoundation.org/libraries/pages/default.aspx) Gates foundation grants for libraries; the website includes application information and lists of past grant recipients.
