  4. Role and Responsibilities • According to the WAAAUB bylaws the “Programs Committee shall coordinate the planning, execution, and administration of events and activities of WAAAUB…” November 2010 WAAAUB North American Regional Gathering Ann Arbor, MI

Our Strategy • Develop specific programs for alumni based on age and affinity groups • Initiate programs/events to facilitate social and business networking • Develop a program targeting recent graduates and graduating classes • Develop activities to involve parents of prospective students with WAAAUB/AUB • Continue work in planning and execution of established WAAAUB calendar events (e.g., Ring Ceremony, Reunion, SPAAC, Legacy Ceremony) November 2010 WAAAUB North American Regional Gathering Ann Arbor, MI

Inaugural AUB Literary Festival, March 25 & 26 2010 (An “affinity” and networking event) Highlights: • Eleven authors honored for outstanding literary achievements in front of capacity audience in West Hall • Three panel sessions held including poetry reading, discussions about creative writing and children with special needs • Held in collaboration with Lebanon’s Ministry of Culture November 2010 WAAAUB North American Regional Gathering Ann Arbor, MI

LEGACY CEREMONY, September 2010 (activity targeted at parent involvement) Highlights: • With Admissions and Student Affairs held second Legacy Ceremony for Alumni parents and their 1st year student children. • Along with Deans and senior AUB administration, record number of attendees in 2010: over 350 parents and children November 2010 WAAAUB North American Regional Gathering Ann Arbor, MI

  8. ESTABLISHED CALENDAR OF EVENTS Summer Program for AUB Alumni Children (SPAAC) With Continuing Ed. Center at AUB, held SPAAC for third year under WAAAUB’s auspices. • Program includes enjoying campus life, educational and cultural classes, sightseeing visits in Beirut and around Lebanon. • 2010 statistics: 33 children from 9 different countries between the ages of 16-21. Class Ring Ceremony, June 24, 2010 (graduating classes involvement activity) • Highlights: • Worked with the University Student Faculty Committee (USFC) to reinstate a ceremony established in 1968. • President Peter Dorman, Provost Ahmad Dallal, AUB Deans, Faculty members and Students among the attendees. • A total of 1300 students (class 2010) participated

REUNION 2010, July 3-5, 2010 Highlights: • Record number of over 700 registered for 2010 Reunion events. • Graduation ceremony for classes of `75 and `85 who did not have commencement. • Record media coverage for graduation ceremony • Gala dinner, World Cup football night, family outing day.
