  2. Originated from England in the 17th century by a man named George Fox (1624-1691) who was the founder.

  3. Started of as a group of religious friends known as the Quakers because they were said to “tremble in the way of the lord”. 359,000 adult followers.

  4. George Fox’s followers considered themselves as the Christian church. It was groups of religious families and friends. All joined together and had many meetings.

  5. Quakers beliefs in God are very similar to Christians ways. To Quakers the universe wasn’t just gods creation but has religious meaning. Quakers believe that God is revealed through Jesus Christ. Quakers don’t believe in sin and believe that every human is good, and that even the fallen are children of God.

  6. A Quakers purpose of life is to spread the word of god. Being a Quaker is not a religion it’s a way of life. George Fox and William Penn declare the religious equality of all people and claimed the liberty to worship freely. Freedom of speech made it possible to spread the Quakers way.

  7. Quakers don’t care about the after life, they mainly focus on how they can make what's in the moment better.

  8. There are two types of meetings. One they all get together in a meditation state and are aloud to speak when feeling led too. Two can just be like a Christians church service with verses read out of the bible and prayer. Quakers call it meetings.

  9. Symbol used by Friends service organizations since the late 19th century. Quakers turn to the Bible as a very inspirational book. That can help in their guidance.
